The panel discussion features Bill Nye, James Randi, Don Prothero, and Mr. Deity (Brian Dalton), moderated by Michael Shermer. Topics include what it means to be a skeptic and especially what is the right approach to skepticism: full-throated frontal assault on other people’s beliefs or a more reasoned and gentle approach respectful of other people’s beliefs even while trying to change them through science and evidence. The most interesting part of the afternoon discussion were the many thoughtful and intelligent questions that came from high school and college students in the audience who were invited on a scholarship program to spend the day at Caltech with skeptics (as, these kids, are the next generation of skeptics).
